HOW TO TURN ON “INSTALL UNKNOWN APPS”

If your device blocks an app download from installing, allow the app opening the download to install it. This may be Downloader, Sheghan Help, Chrome, or your file manager.

Fire TV / Firestick

1. Open Settings (gear icon) → My Fire TV → Developer Options → Install Unknown Apps. Some devices call My Fire TV Device & Software.
2. Select the app you are installing from, such as Downloader or Sheghan Help, and change it to ON.
3. Press Back, return to that app, open the downloaded APK again, and choose Install.

Developer Options missing? Open Settings → My Fire TV → About. Highlight your device’s name (for example, Fire TV Stick) and press the remote’s middle Select button 7 times. Press Back to find Developer Options.

Older Firesticks may show Apps from Unknown Sources instead. Set that option to ON.

Android / Google TV / onn / phones & tablets

1. Download the APK, then open it in the app you are using to install it.
2. If installation is blocked, choose Settings. Select the app opening the APK if asked, then turn on Allow from this source or the switch beside that app.
3. Go Back, reopen the downloaded APK, and select Install.

Can’t find it? Search your device’s Settings for Install unknown apps. On many Android phones it is under Apps → Special app access; TVs may show Security & restrictions → Unknown sources. Menu names vary by device.
